I took my daughter to this doctor for her annual exam. We paid $250 for an annual exam. The only thing he did was a pap smear. The nurse there said they would call us only if the pap came up abnormal. We were told she needed an ultrasound to check the lining of her uterous and that would be an additional $350. When we asked about annual blood work we were told that would be an additional $300 and they could do that at the same time of the ultrasound. My daughter said the doctor made her feel very uncomforable and we decided to cancel and find another doctor. In my interactions with Dr. Zain's employees we were told to not bother asking the doctor anything that the nurse there was the one who could give us the best advise for our daughter's medical needs. It gave me the opinion that the doctor was not competent - that the nurse was the one who ran the show at that office. It should have brought a red flag in my mind but somehow I just let it go. The new doctor requested my daughter's records from Dr Zain's office. However the day my daughter went to the new doctor her pap smear results was not included in the records faxed from Dr. Zain's office. When the new Doctor (Dr. Marilyn Gordon) relayed this to us we assured her that my daughter DID get a pap smear. Her nurse called and FINALLY got the results from Dr. Zain's nurse. To our horror my daughter's pap showed she had HPV! Dr. Zain's office did not call us to tell us this! If I had not taken my daughter to Dr. Gordon we would not have known that she had this disease! I was furious! I called and talked to the nurse (as she is the one in charge) and she offered no explanation other than there was a note in her folder that she was coming in for an ultrasound. Additionally, this nurse nor anyone in the office including the doctor NEVER apologized for this. Clearly this Doctor is so desperate for money that he is ONLY trying to grab every dollar he can from people without doing his job. I wonder if he even KNOWS his job.
